Battery rebates in the ACT

Here is what you can claim in 2026.

The ACT's zero-interest loan means you can install a battery with no upfront cost. Note: this is a loan, not a rebate — the total price doesn't change, just the cashflow.

How to claim the rebate

1
Get quotes from CEC-accredited installers. The rebate is only available through installers accredited by the Clean Energy Council. Ask for at least three quotes.
2
Confirm the rebate is applied on the invoice. Your installer deducts the federal rebate — and any state scheme — directly from the total. You pay the net amount only.
3
The installer lodges the claim on your behalf. You do not interact with the Clean Energy Regulator or any state body. The process is invisible to you once the invoice is signed.
4
Apply for the ACT interest-free loan through Brighte. Your installer will guide you through the Sustainable Household Scheme application. The loan appears on your water/rates bills over 10 years.
